Happy Halloween

October 31, 2011

Happy Halloween!!! To celebrate one of my favorite holidays here are some photos from a shoot last week.

I met up with a friend and her son at a local pumpkin patch to snap a few photos of a special little lion.

He wandered around the pumpkin patch, exploring and wanting nothing to do with the pumpkins. But eventually we convinced him that the pumpkins were pretty cool.

In the end I think he had fun climbing on the pumpkins. And I hope he has fun tonight!

Don’t worry the Halloween fun wont stop with this post, I will have photos of the kids trick or treating later this week!

Pumpkin Patching part 2

October 22, 2011

I decided we did not have enough pumpkins so we headed off to the pumpkin patch (yes again, I told you I love this time of year and that there would be lots of photos, and this isn’t the last of them! I’m doing a couple mini sessions next week with some adorable kids at another pumpkin patch). So anyway… we were off to the pumpkin patch. We picked out 4 pumpkins; 2 regular size and 2 “baby” pumpkins. And while we were there Fiona was in an agreeable mood so I took a few photos of her holding her brother.

Fiona is great with him and gave him a hug.

This photo makes me giggle, but I like it because it shows just how big my little guy is. Both my kids are bored with the whole picture taking process; Fiona is scratching her ear and Lincoln is yawning. I’m sure they are both thinking; is the crazy woman with the camera done yet?

Hanging out with Lincoln

October 19, 2011

Once again while Fiona was at preschool I decided to hang out with Lincoln and take some photos. Right now Lincoln is sleeping in our room so his room is half baby room half guest room. So we hung out on the couch in his room.

Its hard to believe that Lincoln is already a month old! He is getting big.

For a brief moment between diaper changes he got to roll around naked. Look at that round belly!

For the most part Lincoln is a pretty chill baby. He basically eats and sleeps, and occasionally checks out the world around him.

Maybe, just maybe he will be a quiet child. I doubt it, but I can dream.

Pumpkin patching

October 18, 2011

Last week I loaded the kids into the car to go pumpkin patching (yes, its totally a verb) with Molly (Fiona’s bff) and her mom. We headed out to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls, which is about an hour from us. A very long hour when every 5 minutes Fiona asks “Where Molly”, and every 5 minutes I reply “in the car in front of us”.

I let Fiona go as Ladybug Girl (in almost full costume, still waiting for the plain red t-shirt to arrive). She was so excited to be able to go as Ladybug Girl, she even did her Ladybug Girl song and dance (yes, Fiona made up a song and a dance).

We had a lot of fun sitting on pumpkins and looking for just the right one.

Ladybug Girl searched among all the options…

After looking at the big pumpkins, the girls decided the mini pumpkins were more their size.

Then we checked out the rest of the farm, and this photo was hands down my favorite photo of the day. Its the girls being themselves and giggling.

Then we checked out the goats

Wandered around

And came across a monkey laying among the pumpkins.

What kind of monkey did you think we found?

Ahhh, babies; can’t protest when I lay them among pumpkins. They don’t yell No! and stomp their feet. They just happily lay there. And in Lincoln’s case happily napped among the pumpkins.

Congratulations if you made it through the entire post, I know that was alot of photos, and I tried really hard to edit and narrow down the photos. Because it is only the second week of October, I can’t bore you guys already with pumpkin photos, there will be many more!

Fiona is obsessed with a series of books called Ladybug Girl.  She has a pair of rain boots just like the girl in the book and wears them EVERYWHERE. She has to wear her ladybug boots to school, to walk the dogs, to run errands, etc. So I thought she would like to be Ladybug Girl for Halloween. Her wings came the other day, and since discovering them she likes to run around the house wearing them.

We played out front the other day, and of course she had to wear her ladybug shoes, wings, and antennae.

She even has made up a whole song about being ladybug girl. It involves lots of twirling, foot stomping and singing about her boots and wings. I think she is going to have a lot of fun on halloween. I made the tutu for the costume yesterday and she ran around all morning wearing it.

So what does Lincoln think of his big sister? Im pretty sure he was laughing at her.

But thats okay, I’m pretty sure Fiona doesn’t care. Because she is going to fly with her wings and save some ants (you will have to read the book for that reference).

Use that imagination Fiona!!

I finally had the chance the other day to snap a few pictures just of Lincoln. Fiona was off at preschool (preschool!! She is off learning exciting things and growing up so fast), so I laid down with Lincoln and took a few photos.

He is 3 weeks old and already growing so fast. He is growing out of diapers and clothes. He changes daily and I wanted to capture a few of the little details about him…while they are still little.

Before I know it those little hands will be used to feed himself and dress himself. And those little feet will be running around. I want to remember the details and the best way in my sleep deprived state is with photos.
