Becker Vineyard
May 25, 2011
Taking a quick break before diving back into powerpoint.
A few weeks ago the Toole’s came to Texas. We ate… alot, and explored the hill country. One day we drove out to Becker Vineyards. We tasted wine and the kiddos wandered around the vineyard. I have a bunch more photos, but for now my 2 favorite from their trip.
Powerpoint Before and After
May 24, 2011
I mentioned before that it is event season, and for me that means conferences that need presentations. I’ve been working back to back conferences with a few other projects thrown in the mix.
Since I do a lot of event work, most of what I do is clean up to an existing file. But one of my projects was a new project. I worked with a content developer who came up with the initial sketch:
I got my hands on it and turned it into this:
This is not the final version, it is still a work in progress (note the stock image placeholders). But its a drastic difference from the initial sketch.
I have events for the next 3 weeks, so things will be busy around here and will include a trip back to CA!

A dog named Brady
May 20, 2011
Friends of mine contacted me about doing a shoot with their dog that they were unfortunately having to put down. They wanted his last day to be fun and to spend it doing his favorite things. So I headed over to photograph the fabulous Mr. Brady. A very sweet old dog.
Isn’t he handsome?
Once upon a time he was a show dog, and he can still strike a pose.
One of his favorite things to do is swim, and he was delighted to show me just how good of a swimmer he was.

After his swim he got some love from their other dog.
I will do another post of Brady with his owners, so there will be more Brady pictures to come!

There was a art/music installation around Austin a few weeks ago. Its a fabulous art project (http://www.streetpianos.com/) that encourages audience participation. So on one of the last days that the installation would be up in Austin we headed out to check a few of the pianos.
We found several, 1 covered in alcohol, 1 that a guy wouldn’t stop playing even though Fiona asked him when it would be her turn, and 1 that was sitting quietly on a bridge over looking the river.
If the art installation comes to your town, I highly recommend checking it out.
Look for several new posts coming in the next week, dog photos and kids at a vineyard.
Boston: Childrens Museum
May 13, 2011
Finally here is the last posting of our trip to Boston. I’m so far behind on editing photos and on work. Event season is in full swing and me and powerpoint have become joined at the hip. I’m currently booked through about August. But I will still try to post here, I have A TON of photos that are waiting to be edited, and I’m sure I will be taking a ton more. I have a shoot this weekend with a family and their dog, so at some point some pooch photos will make their way here.
On to Boston. I had several more I was hoping to edit, but I figured I might as well post some before everyone forgot that we even went on a trip. These are from our second day in Boston. We headed to the childrens museum and then wandered around the touristy section of Boston by the waterfront.
My friends oldest kid, James, cracks me up. He is a total ham.
While the boys continued to play in the museum, I took Fiona outside to see if I could settle her down for a nap. Yeah, you can see how well that went.
She did eventually fall asleep and we walked over to get cannolies and lobster tails (a pastry that I became addicted to while visiting). After she got refueled with sugar there was no getting her back in the stroller, not that she likes being in it anyway. She would much rather push the stroller.
That pretty much wraps up our trip to Boston. We will be heading back to California in a few weeks for work, and then again in for a weekend in July. We are also trying to squeeze in a vacation in June or July, we haven’t decided where yet but are thinking New Orleans. We have a busy summer ahead of us!
Boston: A trip to Beverly, MA
May 2, 2011
I have a friend who recently moved to New Hampshire and I couldn’t wait to see her while I was on the east coast. We agreed to meet somewhat in the middle and met up in Beverly, MA. We were hoping for a nice warm spring day, but ended up with a cold, gray one instead. We met at Lynch park so that the kids could play while the adults chatted. I bet during summer this place is packed, but on a cold April day we had the place to ourselves.
Lynch Park has a little beach, so Fiona got to see the Atlantic Ocean.
Then we hit up the playground and the boys played.
Then he headed to downtown Beverly in search of some food. We eventually found a cute little diner. But on the way we found some fabulous old buildings.
I have one last day of photos to edit of Boston and then sadly our trip was over. I wish we could have stayed longer. And after editing all my photos I realized that sadly the only photo I got of my friend was the one at the Easton museum where she was putting make-up on her son. We were all so busy that we never did a family shoot with her and her boys. Oh well, it just means they need to visit soon!
