Summer fun

March 23, 2011

Okay, I know its not summer its barely spring. But our weather has been feeling pretty summerish lately; mid 80′s and later this week the 90′s!  We have been busy getting our backyard ready for spring, vegetable planter box is being put together this week and planting is being done. With all that planting going on I figured it would be a great time to water the lawn, okay really it was a warm afternoon and it was just a good excuse to let Fiona run in the sprinklers.

I remember summer as a kid was eating Popsicles and running in the sprinklers, some things never change. Fiona thought the sprinklers were awesome, and I’m betting they are going to lots of use this spring and summer.

Seriously could she be any happier?

Oh to be a kid again! The simple joys of childhood.

Bff’s

March 22, 2011

Okay they are only 20 months and 2 and a half, so they may not be bff’s but they are best friends when ever they see each other. Its surprising 1) how much they look alike (especially considering how different the parents are!), 2) that they are pretty much the same height and can share clothes (enjoy it while you can girls!).

The day that we headed home, we stopped at the Tylers in an attempt to wear Fiona out before the flight (it didn’t work, she didn’t sleep a wink on the plane). But the girls had a blast running around playing with each other. Fiona checked out Jojo’s trike, they rode in the wagon, they played ball, picked flowers and had tea parties.

Jojo found a dandelion and made a wish, maybe it was for Fiona to come back soon and visit?

That pretty much wraps up our trip to California. We played alot and worked alot. Pretty much sounds like a normal week :)

Happy Hollow

March 21, 2011

Here are more photos from our recent trip to California. Fiona LOVED going to Happy Hollow when we lived there, so I figured the easiest way for her to see all of her friends (and for me to see mine) was a trip to Happy Hollow. Rides, goats, and a playground kept the kids pretty busy.

Is there anything cuter then little kids holding hands? I didn’t think so.

Fiona has been talking about this little cutie since we got home. She pretends to call her, and runs over to my computer when I’m editing photos to say hi to her.

Remember Miss Vida? She is getting so big!

Sofie came out to play as well, she just started walking, and was playing with the big kids.

It was a really fun day. The kids chased the goats, rode on rides, climbed the playground and watched the lemurs fight.

There are still more photos to come of our trip.

Of course I couldn’t go to California and not sneak in a quick photo shoot with the Nuttmans. Although the fabulous Miss O had other ideas and was far too busy playing to be bothered with the camera.

But I did sneak one photo of her in, and now I know where Bubba gets his habit of chewing on his fingers. From his big sis!

Speaking of eating fingers…

Bubba sure thinks those fingers are tasty!

I also captured a rare snuggly moment between Bubba and his Grandma. Bubba, we knew you were a softie at heart!

Canoeing

March 10, 2011

Whoops, didn’t mean for a month to go by with out updating. I got sick, then Fiona got sick, then I got sick. The joys of daycare (Fiona goes once a week, to “play with kids” – those are her words). Between all the colds and flu’s I’ve barely picked up my camera. But just before the plague struck, Mark and I had a date day and went canoeing on the river.

Apparently Tibi has been attending to many of Fiona’s tea party’s and has gained a little weight. She was coming up the stairs a few weeks ago, and decided to take a break halfway up the stairs.

Poor dog has to put up with endless mocking, and hat wearing…but that is for another post.

We are in California for a few days, and my camera is getting a lot of use. So look for new posts coming soon.
