Maternity Shoot, Tesia
May 27, 2010
I mentioned that I baked cupcakes for the baby shower we threw for the girl in my book club. Last week I headed out with her to take some maternity shots for her. It happened to be the one sunny day last week, so we got lucky that it was dry.
She lives close to the Los Gatos Creek Trail, so that was our first stop. We walked along the trail for awhile with Fiona chillin in her stroller.
After walking around the fishing ponds we took a break for a quick lunch (Fiona was demanding something more filling then puffs) and then headed to the Guadalupe Rose Garden. Tesia took a break and enjoyed the fleeting sun that we had.
Tesia a beautifull, glowing mama to be. Her son is due next week, and I look forward to meeting him!
Robots and flowers

I’ve had a few requests lately for some nightlights. So happily I headed to my studio to fit in some glass time when ever I could.
A friend asked for something girly but not pink. The baby’s area was decorated with flowers and butterflies, so I came up with a simplified flower design. It is backed with purple glass so it will cast a soft purple light when it is lit.
Another friend asked for a robot for her boys room. She told me the colors of the boys room, I think they will be excited with the addition to their room!

Jungle baby shower
May 11, 2010
Several years ago I joined a book club. At the time it was a way for me to see more of one of my friends and it provided a much needed distraction from everything going on in my life. Its something I look forward to every month, and we have become such good friends that we often do things outside of the book club. Fiona was the first book club baby, and now one of the other girls is pregnant and expecting a little boy in a few weeks. Last week we threw the expecting mom a baby shower. I offered to make the cupcakes, because well I wanted an excuse to make cupcakes. I made vanilla/chocolate swirl cupcakes and added paper elephants to go with the jungle theme.
For the mom to be, I made a bouquet of baby clothes. I saw something similar to this once on vacation, and thought it was a fabulous way to package a gift (and I love fabulous ways to package gifts). It has quickly become a favorite way to give gifts, its quick and adorable.
